New Toys

So after waiting forever it seems, Verizon finally came out with the iphone. Rick and I have been saving our "fun money" for months and it finally paid off. We are both now proud owners of the iphone 4. We are very excited since we have always had the "whatever you can get free" phones.

The gadgets in our house are multiplying because the camera we decided to use our credit card rewards for finally arrived. We got the Canon rebel xsi. We got a great deal on it from the Canon website. We are very excited to have a nice camera for Reagan.

So the following are pics from the iphone and the Rebel.

A little smile

I came in one morning and found her like this...She is a squirmy little thing.

Happy Valentine's day!

Here is our Valentine's day dinner. Chicken parmesan. Yum.

Here are some pics i took on the rebel.

This is my favorite pic we have of Reagan. Love her smiles.

Here's the new toy!! So excited to learn how to use it!

Thanks for reading!

2 months

So I haven't updated this in a while... I keep thinking " I need to blog today"but in the midst of everything we have going on it just doesn't happen.  But in light of Reagan turning 2 months tomorrow I thought I would post a few pics.

She wasn't pleased to be getting that bath...the face was too good not to post.

a little happier in her bunny towel. It was one of the things I had to splurge on at pottery barn and of course I had a coupon. :)

Her first visit to Chick-fil-a. There will be many more to come, I am sure.

She loves to sleep on Daddy's chest.  He adores her, how could you not.

I was trying on this sweater dress my sister got (which as you can see is way too big still) and she just looked so cute.

Here she is chilling in the bumbo...looking a little crazy. She will fit in well with this family.

I love this jacket, got it on sale from old navy, it is fuzzy and has ears- how could I pass it up.  Reagan looks less impressed.

More Daddy time.

The future Mr. and Mrs. Trent. Levi is the other team leader and his wife's son. He was born in October. It is fun that she has other kids to grow up around here in Gainesville.

Check out the post to follow and Happy 2 month to our sweet little Reagan!

Ps 42

Ever since a few years ago, in the midst of a crazy time in my life where all I wanted to do is question God and His intentions for my life I, God has been teaching me a lesson about trusting Him. Thanks to a book called "Behold your God" by Myrna Alexander I have spent the last few years studying and trying my best to focus on the attributes of God.

You see God taught me the best way for me to fight my doubts of His faithfulness and plan for my life is to focus on who He is and how that affects my life.  So when Rick left to go to Italy for a year, day in a day out I would go to the scripture and look up verses helping me to remember that God was sovereign and loved me more than I could imagine. Then last year, when we lost a baby to a miscarriage it was back to the scriptures again trying to trust that God in his all knowing-ness knew much more what that baby needed than I did.

So it was so fun today to see  a biblical example of this. Someone else (presumably David) struggling to trust God's plan and fighting it with remembering God's character.

The main verse 42: 5 (and 11)
"Why are you cast down, O my soul, and why are you in turmoil within me? Hope in God; for I shall again  praise him, my salvation and my God."

then he remembers other attributes in
2- God is a living God
5- God is our salvation
8- God has steadfast love for us
9- God is our Rock
11- same as 5 God is our salvation and our God

It gave me hope that if David, in the midst of all the crazy things in his life, could fight his doubts with meditating on the promises of God and who is He is then so could I.

A busy month

So I have been meaning to write  for a while but when you have a newborn the days go by fast! I can't believe that Reagan will be 5 weeks old tomorrow. These last few weeks have flown by! There is so much to update on I am not sure where to start... well we went for her month check up this week. She weighs 9 lbs and is the the 50%. While her head is in the 75%. That is why I had so much fun in delivery. :)

She has finally learned the difference between her nights and days. Man we went through at least 2 good weeks where she wasn't going to sleep until 3 or 4 in the morning...one day is was 6 am. Then she just wanted to sleep all day. I got wise after that morning. I started the routine they talk about in the book Babywise. The one where you feed, keep them awake, then let them sleep and then start all over 3 hours later. It has really worked. It is supposed to get your baby to sleep through the night by 6 weeks. That would be amazing.

Last night I went to sleep at midnight (early for me) and Rick was just going to put her to bed and then come to bed himself. I went to sleep the minute my head hit the pillow. (I have not been getting tons of sleep.) And I didn't wake up until 5:30. Amazing I thought, I can't believe Reagan slept that long. Only to find out later that she cried with Rick for 2 hours after I went to bed. My sweet husband did everything to try to get her to sleep. He even took her on a drive to look for deer. I think the looking for deer part was for his own sanity. So we are making progress but slowly.  Hopefully in the next few weeks she will start sleeping longer and longer. I miss my full nights of sleep.

But man is she worth it. She is the most precious thing in the world. When she looks up at me and smiles (most likely from gas) I can't imagine life without her.

Here are a couple of her latest pics.

I have a thing for clothing with ears.

Yay she's finally awake during the day.

Leah, our very first babysitter. We went out to breakfast on MLK and Leah watched Reagan for us!!

Out at breakfast. Flying biscuit..my favorite!

Leah bought her this cute monkey hat...She is adorable.

More jackets with ears!

I found her in the swing asleep with her hands like this.

She was looking at my very skeptically. She is a funny girl.

We went for our first walk around the neighborhood this week. Hopefully we will have many more walks to come so that I can lose the rest of my baby weight and get back in my regular clothes. I am getting very tired of my same elastic waistband jeans.

Well thats all for now!! I will do another update soon!

Christmas

We are so excited Reagan came a week before Christmas! What a blessing. We had such a fun Christmas with her in the house. My parents and Rick's parents and brother came up on Christmas eve day. We made some sugary treats and relaxed.

Then we headed out to the Christmas eve service at our church. Although Reagan cried the whole ride there, she was so good during the service...just sleeping away. Then we came home to Rick's mom's tradition Swedish Christmas eve dinner. So tasty.

Christmas morning my dad made pancakes and we opened an obscene amount of gifts. I think Reagan racked up the most. She is lucky to have such great grandparents!

Of course all along the way we got some great shots of Reagan.
Here are our highlights.

All of us at our Christmas eve service.

The Griggs'

We skyped with Rick's brother and sister in law, Will and Jess. They got to meet Reagan for Christmas.

Getting ready to open gifts.

Opening gifts.

Smiling.

The best Christmas gift.

Good times with Daddy.

Her with her new build a bear.  Funny that the bear's head is bigger than hers. :)

Visitors

We have been blessed to have many people visit Reagan both at the hospital and here at the house! It is fun that so many people are excited that she is here. We anticipate a lot more visitors when everyone gets back in town.  It has been kind of nice to have a slow stream of visitors since most people are out of town for Christmas. It has given us time to begin to figure out how to feed/sleep/and generally learn how to function with a newborn in the house. She is a blessing but I do miss my full nights of sleep!
Here are a few pics of our visitors.
Jess, one of my disicples came to the hospital.

2 of my friends from my staff team. Kelly and Jessica. Jessica drove all the way from Orlando to visit Reagan! I have great friends here.

Rick had 2 college friends in town Nate and Nate who came to meet Reagan.

Travis was a natural with Reagan. She watched a basketball game with him for almost an hour.

My dad (Pops) drove all the way from St. Simons just for the day to see his first granddaughter.

Rick's family also drove up from Orlando. This is his dad (Grandpa) with Reagan. We had to tear her away from him. :)

Rick's brother Tommy.

Rick's mom (grandma).

Another friend from our staff team,Carly, stopped in before heading to our Christmas conference.

Leah, one of my disciples, of course cried when she held Reagan. She will make a great babysitter!

Carly, another disciple, looked like a natural!

If you would like to meet Reagan come on by! We would love to see you. Plus, since I am still healing, I  can't get out much so I love all the company I can get.
Stay tuned for our Christmas pics!

Reagan is Here!!

I had meant to post this a week ago but I have realized anything that takes more than one hand doesn't get done. (While feeding I can only use one hand.) Plus we had both Rick and my family in town for Christmas. It was a blessing, but I haven't had much free time! I guess I should get used to that. :)

Please meet Reagan Katherine Kingsley born Dec. 17, 2010 at 4:14 pm. She was 7 lbs and was 19.75 in long.
Rick was the best coach a girl could ask for! I couldn't have done it without him!

After almost 3 hours of pushing and 13 hours of labor, my precious little girl made it all worth it!

My mom was there the whole time. She was great at the ice chips!

Getting printed

Rick is such a sweet Daddy!

All dressed up!

Getting ready for Christmas!

Arriving at home! Fenway was so excited!

More posts of Reagan to come!
Thanks for reading!
